At the sitting of May 2, Parliament debated the draft law on ratifying the Agreement on the cooperation of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States for the purpose of prevention and response to sanitary-epidemic emergency situations in the field of public health.
According to the First RA Deputy Minister of Health Lena Nanushyan, the Agreement was developed taking into consideration the provisions of the Agreement 2015 on the cooperation of the CIS member states in the field of emergency prevention and elimination, as well as the World Health Organization (WHO) strategy for the implementation of international medical and sanitary rules in the territory of the CIS member states and the programme for the implementation of measures in the framework of the fight against infectious diseases for the purpose of prevention and response to emergency situations in the field of public health of a sanitary-epidemic nature.
With the adoption of the draft, it is expected to strengthen the cooperation of the member states in the direction of prevention and elimination of emergency situations of a sanitary-epidemic nature, to create favorable conditions for providing mutual assistance, by providing quick information to the other parties to the Agreement on an emergency situation or its danger, by involving specialized anti-epidemic teams if necessary.
The document defines the main areas of work and the work order of specialized anti-epidemic teams, their move to the emergency zone in the territory of the other party’s state, information and other issues.
