Hakob Arshakyan: Reaching about 30 weekly direct flights essentially promote the activation of bilateral business ties, tourism, cultural and decentralized cooperation

On December 27, the Vice President of the RA National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of Armenia Nariman Mohammed Sharif Abdulla AlMulla.

Welcoming the Ambassador in the parliament, the NA Vice President noted that during the 25-year history of the establishment of diplomatic relations a strong and dynamically developing cooperation was formed between the two countries based on the warm ties of the two friendly peoples.

Thanking the NA Vice President for warm reception, the Ambassador stated that in a number of spheres the two countries have unrealized great potential and the coming joint works should be aimed at the activation of cooperation.

Bothe sides also highlighted the role of the parliamentary diplomacy. In this context Hakob Arshakyan stressed the role of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups as a unique bridge of mutual understanding and trust for a closer dialogue between the legislative bodies of the two countries. He expressed conviction that a new page of relations would open between the parliaments of the two countries based on partnership and great prospects.

Hakob Arshakyan also emphasized the mutual visits to ensure the stable progress of deepening the bilateral political dialogue and cooperation, which boost the continuous strengthening of relations and create a favourable basis for mutually beneficial economic and investment cooperation.

As perspective directions of cooperation the NA Vice President singled out the spheres of tourism, infrastructures, renewable energy, construction, agriculture, food industry, as well as fields of high technologies, digitalization, cyber security and innovation.

In Hakob Arshakyan’s opinion, reaching about 30 weekly direct flights essentially promote the activation of bilateral business ties, tourism, cultural and decentralized cooperation.

In this context the NA Vice President mentioned that in the development of bilateral cooperation the cancellation protocol of the visa to the UAE for the citizens of Armenia will also have its important role, and the bill on its ratification was adopted at the NA extraordinary session convened on December 22, and the RA President had already signed it.

The members of the Friendship Group RA NA Armenia-United Arab Emirates Mariam Poghosyan and Tsovinar Vardanyan also took part in the meeting.
