Ambassador Maragos Stresses Importance of Continued Customs Cooperation in Expanding EU–Armenia Partnership

On Tuesday, at the State Revenue Committee, the 6th meeting of the EU-Armenia Customs Sub-Committee took place in Yerevan under the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), bringing together representatives from the European Union and Armenian authorities.
The Sub-Committee is a key platform for advancing EU-Armenia cooperation and supporting closer economic integration. The parties exchanged updates on legislative reforms and discussed ongoing EU support to modernise border infrastructure and strengthen customs capacities.

Ambassador Maragos stressed the importance of continued cooperation in customs as part of the broader EU-Armenia growing partnership agenda, highlighting its role in facilitating trade, strengthening regulatory alignment, and addressing shared risks, including sanctions circumvention.

Chairman of the SRC Eduard Hakobyan thanked the EU for the constructive and results-oriented dialogue, underlining its contribution to the development of Armenia’s customs system.
