Iraqi News Agency: Ambassador Krikor Der Hagopian presented his credentials today, Thursday, to U.S. President Donald Trump as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to the United States, during an official ceremony at the White House.
The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the United States said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United States, Krikor Der Hagopian, presented his credentials to U.S. President Donald Trump as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to the United States, during an official ceremony at the White House.”
It added that “the ambassador conveyed the greetings of the Iraqi government,” affirming “his pride in being appointed ambassador to the United States.”
It continued that “the priorities of his mission will focus on following up on the outcomes of the Prime Minister’s visit to the United States, working to usher in a new era in Iraqi-American relations, deepening strategic ties, and expanding political, economic, investment and security cooperation, in a manner that strengthens Iraq’s regional role and serves the common interests of the two countries and their peoples.”
