During a conversation with www.aravot.am, Eduard Sharmazanov, the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) deputy speaker of the National Assembly and the RPA press secretary, urged all political forces participating in the election to work, as usual, since according to him, all conditions were created, in order that a free and fair election might be held. “I would advise some figures to put aside hysterical and elevated statements and to report to the law-enforcement agencies on concrete facts of electoral violations.”
According to Sharmazanov, both the police and the prosecutor’s office work very efficiently. In response to the observation of www.aravot.am that there had been many reports on handing out election bribery by the Republicans, Sharmazanov, referring to the information made public by the police a short time before on bringing in 2 persons alleged to have been engaged in election bribery, said, “Yes, there have been cases of election bribery, but those people are not Republicans. My political correctness doesn’t allow me to mention members of what party they are.” Let us inform that according to the police data, the people brought in and alleged to have been engaged in election bribery are members of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP).
