Today Yelaket (starting point) club hosted military expert Davit Jamalyan, PhD in political science Narek Galstyan and PhD in history Edgar Hovhannisyan who talked about the latest developments in the negotiation process of the Artsakh conflict settlement.
According to D. Jamalyan, Azerbaijan doesn’t enjoy military superiority over Armenia, which doesn’t make it possible to unleash a new war in the future, “It is a political trick that Azerbaijan tries to fix the date of making a preemptive attack and develop the thesis that ‘return Karabakh and live peacefully.’ Our task is to deny that empty thesis, in order that the public is not manipulated.”
The military expert added that Azerbaijan had always tried to settle the Karabakh conflict militarily, every time meeting organized rebuffs of the Armenia side, “It was obvious from the latest actions that Azerbaijan tries to make an impression on the international community that the regional security depends on it. However, the constructive policy of Azerbaijan is out of the question, unless soldier deaths on the border stop.”

In Narek Galstyan’s words, the enemy has a set of possibilities to blackmail the international institutions, “Being an energy and communication nexus, it makes Russia and the West dependent on it, besides it has taken an anti-Iranian position. During the upcoming meeting between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Azerbaijan to take place in Paris, the project on ruling out violation of the ceasefire regime should be an important issue.”
Talking about the recent violation of the ceasefire by the enemy recently, D. Jamalyan reasserted the grave loss of 4 soldiers, “At the same time, Azerbaijan has been struck a serious moral and psychological blow, since it has suffered pointless losses, not taking a single Armenian foothold. The Azerbaijani public as a whole should understand that their children are victims of Aliyev’s adventurism.”
