The Ministry of Justice to Gurgen Yeghiazaryan

August 20,2012 16:14

In regard to the accusations made by Gurgen Yeghiazaryan, a member of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP) today, the Ministry of Justice explained to www.aravot.am, “The Ministry of Justice registers NGOs, as well as parties, when all documentation required by the law is submitted and is drawn up in accordance with the law, as well as there is no obvious falsification in the documentation. Additional audit is not conducted and if the legal requirements are met, the registration takes place. The same procedure is applied to registering changes.

The above-mentioned procedure of state registration has been devised to rule out red tape and corruption risks. Possible mistakes in the process can be fixed by the superior in the framework of a complaint, as well as in the framework of a trial (which actually takes place right now).”

Let us remind that on August 24, a court session on problems with registering the SDHP will take place. The ministry said in this regard that if the court assesses that the submitted documentation was falsified, the ministry would void the registration of the change and would restore the former record. “And until the court has made its assessment of the documentation, there is no ground to find them false.”
