November 17,2012 15:52

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian was forced to delete a tweet in support of Israel after she received dozens of anti-Semitic tweets and death threats.

After Hamas militants launched a rocket attack on Jerusalem in response to Israel’s killing of the Hamas military chief, the 31-year-old took to her Twitter account and posted, “Praying for everyone in Israel”.

Kardashian soon faced a barrage of negative responses from some of her 17 million followers, a media report said.

“You are a disgrace to your people and your ancestors,” a follower tweeted, referring to her Armenian origin.

“People like you are the reason I want to die Palestine,” another said.

Others tweeted, “Kill yourself”, “Die in Hell”, “I will pray you will die kim”.

“Further enhancing your reputation as a dumb porn star.”

Within minutes, Kardashian followed it up with a tweet reading, “And praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world.”

The socialite immediately took down the tweets and released a statement on her website about the situation.

“I want to own up to and explain that earlier today I sent out two tweets about saying prayers for the people in Palestine and Israel and after hearing from my followers, I decided to take down the tweets because I realized that some people were offended and hurt by what I said, and for that I apologize,” Kim said.

“I should have pointed out my intentions behind these tweets when I posted them. The fact is that regardless of religion and political beliefs, there are countless innocent people involved who didn’t choose this, and I pray for all of them and also for a resolution. I also pray for all the other people around the world who are caught in similar crossfires,” she added.
