“Many People Say That Aram Should Be Nominated, and I Am Thinking Whether the Situation Is Favorable, Whether We Have Chances to Win,” Suren Abrahamyan Says

December 17,2012 23:20

Aram Sargsyan, the leader of the Republic Party, said regarding his nomination for the presidential election during a conversation with www.aravot.am that the waters were very troubled at present, but they would not remain troubled, they would be overcome, “For the moment, I don’t see that. I will not engage in a process, where I will lose. That defeat will not benefit either me or these people. If I engage in a political process, a struggle personally, I will have to win, and I will win. If I see that, I will certainly engage.”

We asked Suren Abrahamyan, a member of the Republic Party political council, to tell us whether Aram Sargsyan would win that victory, and in what case the people would support him. Suren Abrahamyan replied: “You know what, let me tell you one thing. At least the past experience showed us that everyone is offered a chance to struggle for becoming the president just once. Stepan Demirchyan, Vazgen Manukyan, then he engaged for the second time, what result did he achieve? I don’t want to tell you their names now. A man is offered

that chance just once. That is why I also… many people say Aram should be nominated, and I am thinking whether the situation is favorable, whether we have chances to win. When we have chances to win, we will engage, we will roll up our sleeves and move on. However, now, in this political situation….”

We cleared up whether he meant that there was no chance now, he replied: “Well, I don’t know what will happen till December 21, the end of the world is on December 21, and we don’t know what will happen.”
