Former Members of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) That Oppose the ANC Made Yerjanik Abgaryan Angry

December 24,2012 23:19

Yerjanik Abgaryan, a member of the Pan-Armenian National Movement (PANM) executive committee, expressed his anger during a conversation with www.aravot.am after the congress of  Hrant Bagratyan’s Freedom Party about the politicians who had withdrawn from the Congress. Talking about different wings of the ANC, he said: “Members of the ANC are in the same faction. Who has withdrawn; it is his problem. I think that those who withdrew were generally angry; they just had to explain why they had withdrawn and start their work. Opposing the ANC and so on is not right. Hrant Bagratyan said very clearly that if Levon Ter-Petrossian didn’t announce his candidacy, everything would run its course. I don’t see any problem here.” In response to our question who had opposed the ANC and whom he meant, he said: “If they criticize the ANC in every speech, it means they don’t know what they will do in the near future.”

We cleared up whether one had to act as the team even after withdrawing, he said: “It is not about the team. If you leave somewhere for some reason, I don’t say whether it is good or bad; I am not talking about that. I am saying that you should give an explanation why you had left. You just have to explain once; that’s all. After that, you can start your constructive work, and we will see your work, instead of criticizing with or without reason.” We tried to find out whom he meant, Aram Sargsyan or Davit Shahnazaryan, he replied: “I don’t name names.”
