“Putting up one tent is lawful and isn’t against the law. Today the Human Rights Defender visited Raffi Hovhannisyan and continues to claim that putting up one tent isn’t against the law,” Naira Karmirshalyan, the press secretary of Karen Andreasyan, the Human Rights Defender, told www.aravot.am. In her words, the Defender’s representatives talked with police officers, but since the Defender can only advise and cannot impose his position, they cannot make them take into account the Defender’s position. “In this case, police officers violated the law, because, according to our information, they were going to apply to the city hall to get permission to put up a tent.”
