Political majority’s “impromptu operation” and PAP member of Counting Committee

December 24,2013 22:45

“If you stay apart from the artistic formulations and present what happened, then illegitimacy happened in our reality, a voting took place, which was counted by a certain body that has no jurisdiction, and a decision was made, which seems to be given effect and appearance”, said Tigran Urikhanyan, a PAP MP, Spokesperson of the faction, in the conversation with Aravot.am, referring to yesterday’s events at the National Assembly during the voting of the “gas agreement”.

To the point, the latter is a member of NA Counting Committee. “Not having the opportunity and the desire to participate in a special operation carried out by the political majority, in fact, conducted impromptu, I did not take part even in the activities of the Counting Committee, with regard to which I express my surprise of how the decision can be considered adopted,” said the MP. To the observation of Aravot.am that according to the Counting Committee Chairman, Republican MP Sukias Avetisyan, the Committee has acted within its powers, Tigran Urikhanyan said, “The Committee was not competent to make a decision because there was no committee session, the committee is a collegial body and its activities can be performed only if there is a quorum.” Recall that yesterday only three members participated in the Committee works: two from of RPA, and one from the Rule of Law. The latest events of the National Assembly, in general, are known to be associated with the MP with the famous story when one of the impressionists, having the problem to be quickly recognized, announced with his friends the obituary of his death. His canvases are sold for a quick start, moreover, at high prices. “This was the first thing I recalled today in connection with the incident, when they are exerting efforts to make desired much to be reality,” said the MP and continued, “By force, in spite of the public and other political forces, in contrast to logic and all the requirements that exist, the political majority decided to arbitrarily do its job, without reckoning with anything.” Noting that very malice has some degree, which should not be exceeded, and recalling the same imperialists, who, for example, found the right moment, understood and decided to “revive” their supposedly dead friend, Tigran Urikhanyan expressed the opinion that the government missed the best chance to correct its decision. “It is time for the political majority to sober, the knife is already getting to the bone, they should not…. ” To the question of Aravot.am as to what he does not like being a Russian orientation MP, Tigran Urikhanyan reminded that the official view of the “Prosperous Armenia” party, as well as his personal view is to have comprehensive development of relations with Russia in all directions, both political and economic.

“But, along with mutual benefits and interests available in current reality of circumstances provided historically, are future benefits and interests of Armenia, and I support the interests of our partner state in the context of our interests, and not vice versa. And, as for RA Government-“Gazprom” relations are not the same for me as Armenia-Russia relations are”. To the question of, perhaps, the parliamentary opposition adopts a new practice, as it is not the first time when, regardless of the struggle of the opposition, the political majority passes any bill in the National Assembly, Tigran Urikhanyan responded, “Yes, there will be something new, yes, sooner or later, the voter would assess the political majority, yes, there will be implementation of the new policy by providing new direction to Armenia, a new quality of life to the citizens of Armenia.”
