Alexander Arzumanyan. The Co-chairs protected Warlick’s view

May 13,2014 21:39

“I have already said that this is not only the view of the U.S., these views are accorded. Although Warlick was speaking on behalf of the American side, Russia and France probably had given their consent. Now, the triple co-chairmanship came up with one general view, which fully supported Warlick’s stated formulations. Including, with regard to occupied territories,” said the RA former foreign minister Alexander Arzumanyan, in the conversation with the journalists of Aravot.am and Lragir.am sites, commenting on the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ statement associated with the 20th year of the ceasefire. Recall that Co-chairs’ statement in particular reads, “The territories surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh are still occupied, and the agreement failed to provide a path forward on status for Nagorno-Karabakh. The absence of a final settlement has resulted in the ongoing displacement of hundreds of thousands of people, the perpetual threat of escalating violence along the international border and the Line of Contact, and a misconception in some quarters that the status quo can be sustained indefinitely.” As for the rest of the questions, Alexander Arzumanyan urged to ask those who after James Warlick’s statement were writing statuses on their Facebook page, “The U.S. betrayed us, long live Russia!” Earlier, after Warlick’s statement, in the conversation with Aravot.am, Alexander Arzumanyan had said that even though the Ch-chair had presented the six elements as his view, it was agreed with the other co-chairs, too.
