President of Union of Winemakers of Armenia and “Maran” company, Avag Harutyunyan, informed Aravot.am that shortly before they received an information that “Maran” company’s “Bagratuni” red wine was granted a Bronze Medal in the Decanter World Wine Award prestigious competition. The competition is 10 years old. Last year, 14362 wines were introduced in the event. As said by Avag Harutyunyan, Decanter World Wine Award is the largest and strong competition in the world industry of wine. Last year, more than 200 experts from 27 countries evaluated presented wines. “I know that until this year no Armenian wine has received an award from Decanter competition,” said Avag Harutyunyan.
