24-year-old Vahe Hakobyan is a graduate of Mkhitar Sebastatsy education complex, where he studied painting. His works were also displayed in “Akanat” cafe-gallery. The “Exchange of Painters” project initiated by Turkish “Anadolu Kültür” organization and “Public Journalism Club” launched here, which was attended by four young Armenian and Turkish painters, each, with their leaders. The works by Armenian and Turkish youth will be exhibited for one week until the end of the project. Vahe says that he communicates with Turkish youth without complex, he emphasizes human qualities, rather than the nationality in communication. He is happy for having the opportunity to participate in this project, he says that it will provide a move forward in normalization process of the Armenian-Turkish relations.
“There will be communication. Exchange of experience would be more enjoyable for us. In the meantime, there might also be talks about the relationships of our countries, however, it would be more interesting to me to know what my colleagues are doing in Turkey,” says he. Prior to becoming familiar with the works by Armenian and Turkish young artists, Head of “Public Journalism Club”, Seda Muradyan, introduced the attendees to the details of the project, being convinced that it would be possible to develop a dialogue between the two countries through culture. Chargé d`Affaires of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Dirk Lorenz, attending the exhibition stressed that the participants truly appreciate the implementation of this program. He said, “We believe that creating a civilized platform for possibilities of partnership, as well as a dialogue between the two countries’ representatives in the arts has a vital importance.”
