Our “competitive advantage”

November 20,2015 12:06

Ilham Aliyev attending the G-20 conference in Antalya as a “little brother” had decided to use the moment and claim in the framework on the subject of terrorism that Armenia is also a terrorist state. I have no intention to discuss such absurd allegations. I will just repeat my opinion that terrorism is not just blowing up a plane or murdering people who had come to a concert. The violence is implicitly the non-judgmental mindset. In this respect, both the Turks and Azerbaijanis refuted Aliyev in a few days, who began whistling and yelling “Allah Akbar” before the football matches, when it was suggested to commemorate the terrorism in Paris with a minute’s silence. Consequently, these people hold a thirst for blood in their hearts, and they are ready to kill innocent and defenseless people for some avenge or any other “noble idea”.

Unlike many of my compatriots, I think that it’s not the peculiarity of given ethnic group but a culture embedded over the centuries, and Aliyev and Erdoğan are also the carriers and preachers of it. Hence, when the latter says that he is joining the international efforts to combat terrorism, it is contrary to the policy that he runs inside the country.

If such a terrorist attack occurs in Turkey, God forbid, and in the beginning of a football match in Armenia it is offered to honor the victims of this terrorist attack, many people will whistle and express his disagreement with it? I think, very few people. Therefore, not only the question of who is supporting terrorism is removed, but also which culture our country belongs to and which direction it should go.

There are people in Armenia who think that this difference between us and the Turks is an expression of weakness, we should promptly give up our values and be a lot like our neighbors. These people, I think, are straying. Yelling “Allah Akbar!” and welcoming people’s death, we, however, cannot compete with them. We must use our “competitive advantage”. Yes, we need to be changed, but in the opposite direction by overcoming ignorance, the stereotypes formed in the 19th century, avenge, intolerance, envy and jealousy.

Living in this air not contaminated with these bacilli not only keeps people healthy but also makes them stronger. Like a strong man does not compare himself to other, “more successful” people, so as the healthy nation think first of all about his own deeds and ways. And if any alien makes an infringement on him, he simply destroys him. Cool-heartedly and without hatred.
