Member of ARF Supreme Body and former NA MP Lilit Galstyan spoke about the discussions on forming a coalition with the Republican Party. “In any political format, the ARF has followed one goal: to serve the Armenian people and the Armenian statehood, step by step pursuing our political program and not retreating from our principles. At this moment, I cannot speak about the clear format of the coalition and its contextual details. Just reiterating the words of Hrant Margaryan, I will say, yes, we have received an invitation on cooperation with the ruling party and currently the discussions are underway. I think that after the constitutional amendments, a broad field of activities, responsibilities and commitments, and why not, to follow the political values offered by us, has been opened. I am sure that it is true that we have the major resources to implement them. Our expectations are the stable and persistent changes that refer to the healing of the current political content, the country’s economic and social process, as well as to the endless challenges aimed at our statehood,” said Lilit Galstyan.
Referring to the observation made by the Vice-Chairman of the “Heritage” party, Armen Martirosyan, that ARF failed to do changes neither inside nor outside of the coalition, Lilit Galstyan disagreed, “However, I do not share the view that we completely failed to do changes and influence on the process. Certainly, the results were too modest and many of us were not happy with it, we could and had the right to demand more. We demand … and I think that our demand, the responsibility to be the owner of our country and the depth of the problems accumulated in the country compel us to centralize all our resources for the sake of Armenia. Incidentally, today’s complex geopolitical situation compels all political forces to be in the field of national concord and serve for Armenia.” Note that the ARF party, according to the “Liberty” radio station, has “principally” accepted the RPA’s offer to make a part of the ruling coalition.
