Stepan Grigoryan. The international response played a role but the main restraining mechanisms are restraining actions of Karabakh’s army

April 04,2016 00:00

Aravot.am asked the political scientist Stepan Grigoryan, what are the results of the international response referring to the president of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and to the special representative to South Caucasus of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and to the other announcements of the international structures who call for immediate ceasefire and to continue peaceful settlement of the issue. In his opinion the result is visible, as Azerbaijan doesn’t involve large-scale actions: “It is also because of the international response. But we cannot be fully satisfied with that response. Why? Because the significant part of the response was late, except Russia, who quickly responded”.

Stepan Groigoryan reacting to the international responses said that there were some nuances that shouldn’t have happened that way: “The majority put equals signs. If you want the aggressor become sober, you need that announcement to target the direction. But generally the fact that there was a reaction is very important. It somehow restrained the Azerbaijani. It is clear that the main restraining mechanisms are the retraining actions of Karabakh’s army”.
