Fethullah Gülen accused of murder of Russian ambassador to Turkey

April 03,2018 14:40

Meduza.io reports that Turkish Prosecutor General’s Office accuses Islamic propagandist Fethullah Gülen, who lives in the US, of the murder of Russian ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov.

The Prosecutor’s Office has appealed to the court asking for permission to arrest Gülen and another 7 persons involved in the murder of Karlov. The court has granted a permission.

Earlier, Turkish authorities claimed that Mevlut Altintas, who carried out the assassination of the ambassador, was one of Gülen’s supporters, but did not accuse him of organizing the murder.

Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov was killed in 2016 during an exhibition in Ankara in December.
