Russia will accept any Armenian government. Any Armenian government will strive to have good relations with Russia. There is a consensus in the overwhelming majority of our society on the Russian military base and CSTO, and the main, pro-governmental or opposition political forces agree that these structures should be maintained.
Consequently, this revolution does not and will not hinder the friendly relations between our peoples and states. Those who claim the opposite are concerned not about our peoples and states, but about other things. And moreover, these people “sow” distrust between the two friendly nations.
“This movement is against Russia” false, provocative and dangerous thesis has supporters both in Armenia and Russia. Sending the Deputy Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister will be sent to Moscow and get a 4-line “supporting” statement from the Putin administration is also within this framework.
Then the Russian TV channels are ordered to take that false thesis forward, and the propagandists, also with Armenian surnames, start chanting the old song: “this is Maidan”, although theoretically and practically it has been proved that the recent events have nothing to do with “Maidan”.
Why do I consider talks about “Maidan” as a provocation? Because people lacking political and “information” experience engage in a heated campaign against the false thesis, willingly or unwillingly, criticizing the policy of Russia. Because in our social-political field many people are guided by emotions, this reaction is natural. But just like in many other cases, I think one should think for at least 5 minutes before saying or writing anything.
So, dear authorities of Armenia, do not mix Russia with this story. First, it is inefficient, second, please, think, about your dignity and the reputation of the country. But even if the authorities are trying to bring extra-forces against you, dear citizens, do not take these attempts seriously, do not engage in debates. Let us postpone the matter of Russia for more quiet times.
