‘It is clear that the Republican party does not have a single position’

May 07,2018 20:41

Referring to the Republican Party of Armenia Deputy Chairman Armen Ashotyan’s comment to the Associated Press made the previous day, namely “If Nikol Pashinyan becomes a Prime Minister, the RPA will become an opposition”, the member of the “Civil Contract” Party Arayik Harutyunyan said in his interview to “Aravot”: “Let us wait for the official announcement, while it may be Armen Ashotyan’s personal approach. There are some MPs in the party waiting to vote for Nikol Pashinyan on May 8. It is clear, that they do not have a unified position, and it may be the same in case of becoming an opposition.”

As for Armen Ashotyan’s observation, that “He does not find any ways for cooperation with the government headed by Nikol Pashinyan”, Arayik Harutyunyan mentioned: “That may also be Mr. Ashotyan’s personal opinion. The head of the Republican Party of Armenia, Vahram Baghdasaryan, has not made such a statement. Let us look forward to the official position of the RPA, which will probably be announced on May 8.”

Our interlocutor added that their aim was to have a temporary government that would reflect the events of that moment: “And as far as the RPA’s decision is concerned, it is their inner problem.”

That “party,” which has been on the wrong side of history for 25 years, will be DEAD in 24 hours!
