The staff of the Human Rights Defender’s office, recorded “very concerning” phenomena during the days of the Armenian Velvet Revolution. This is the intolerance on social networks, which still continues, and in some cases it grows into a propaganda of hatred and violence. In an interview with reporters at the parliament, Arman Tatoyan said: “I highly value all the calls and efforts that are aimed at reducing that atmosphere”.
Journalists inquired about the Ombudsman’s special report on the revolutionary events. “There have been violations of the rights of participants in the rallies, we have recorded them, and summed up. These days, the experience showed that the main problem in terms of ensuring the rights is the one for the rights of participants in the rallies”, said Arman Tatoyan adding that all materials have been sent to the relevant bodies. Only after receiving the results, the issue of an extraordinary report will be considered.
Garegin Chugaszyan, a member of the “Founding Parliament”, has been on hunger strike for a month now. Arman Tatoyan said that he had paid attention to the issue from the very first day.
