“It is a condemnable announcement, which I believe should receive the strictest estimation of the Co-Chairs,” said the Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, referring to the announcement made by the first vice speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, Ziyafet Askerov.
The latter had threatened to “free up the occupied territories of Azerbaijan” through the armed fight.
The Vice President of Armenia’s Parliament considers it impermissible that the representative of the parliamentary authority of Azerbaijan evidently speaks up about restarting war: “I have replied to him very clearly in State Duma a year before. However, he has not understood it properly: let me repeat – let all people forget that any political force, including our political force – the Republican Party of Armenia, can make the process of international recognition of Artsakh take the backward course in the Republic of Armenia.”
RPA’s position on Artsakh conflict has not changed also after becoming the opposition. As a government, they have fought for the fair resolution of Artsakh issue, and now they are going to support the authorities in all negotiations: “There is no authority and opposition in Artsakh and Armenian Genocide issues, all of us are the guarantors of Artsakh security.”
