The US Embassy in Armenia organized a reception on the 242nd anniversary of the US Independence. On this occasion, US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills made a speech:
“242 years ago, the founding fathers of the USA endangered their lives with the belief that their rights were not protected and they decided to get rid of the corrupt king”, Mr. Mills noted. Then he touched upon the set independence, the new system in the United States, where, according to him, the freedoms given by God are guaranteed.
“Today, we celebrate the victory of America’s Revolutionary Spirit in New Armenia, whose people stood up for their rights… It was a movement that involved the youth, men, women”. According to the Ambassador, the events in Armenia reminded of what happened 242 years ago in the United States.
