Armenian Genocide denying historian leaves nationalist party

The newly formed Turkish nationalist “İYİ” party members gradually decrease in number. Yusuf Halacoglu, one of the founders of the party, former president of the Turkish Historical Society, who denies the Armenian Genocide, has resigned.

Party members Ozcan Yeniceri and Nevzet Bor also left with him. At the organized press conference the above-mentioned persons did not specify why they left the newly formed party. According to them, they had no problem with party leader Meral Aksener. They also said that they are not going to join any other party. The party issued a statement which stated that they respect the decision of their party members.

Let us inform that Halacoglu, Yeniceri, and Bor were former members of the Turkish “Nationalist Movement” party. It is known that the “İYİ” party was formed by the former “Nationalist Movement” party members. Aksener also has been a member of “Nationalist Movement” party.

Earlier, the Turkish media wrote that there were disagreements among the “İYİ” party members. Some party members were displeased with Aksener. The main reason was the results of the extraordinary elections.
