Armenuhi Kyureghyan, Secretary of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation faction, is one of the MPs who has signed a petition to release Robert Kocharyan from custody. In an interview with Aravot.am, she said that she took the approach of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Supreme Body into consideration while signing the petition.
In response to the question whether what she thinks on the decision of the Prosecutor’s Office to reject the petition and guarantee, Ms. Kyureghyan said: “It is the Prosecutor General’s decision. Perhaps, he has his own reasons for that. However, this does not mean that we will no more voice about such issues. We witness not the right approach to the implementation of justice”.
We asked whether this will not give rise to problems between partners of two coalitions, Kyureghyan answered: “Coalition partnership should not be confused with identification. If you are a coalition partner, it does not mean that you should not voice about the concerns that you see in the interests of that very coalition partnership”.
Asked whether Armenian Revolutionary Federation is not interested in revealing the March 1 case, Armenuhi Kyureghyan said: “We are more than interested in it. We are against biased justice. If this is a clash, which of course has two sides, then why the second side is not being invited for interrogation?”.
