Nikol Pashinyan briefed on progress in Engineering City project

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called at the Engineering City in Yerevan. The City is still at the construction stage, but it has already hosted several high-tech companies.

The Prime Minister was shown the City’s layout which features innovative engineering solutions and manufacturing models. Conceived according to the public-private partnership principle, the Engineering City shall host research hubs and schools with advanced teaching of engineering disciplines. It will consist of research, production and educational sections. Underway is the construction of a technopark for children. The program will provide professional training for 1500 specialists. It will result in 2000 new jobs and several newly established Start-ups. The project will be built on a plot of land at Bagrevand Street in Yerevan.

The Engineering City-hosted private companies have already set up an engineering center, a library, and the space, science and technologies museums. The Premier toured the museums and got acquainted with the exhibits. Highlighting the effective implementation of the program, Nikol Pashinyan stressed that the high-tech industry is among the key driving forces behind the country’s economy. The Prime Minister assured that the Government will keep in the spotlight the development of high-tech industries, the IT and experimental sectors in Armenia.
