On August 23, Ashot Hovakimyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, received Anna-Carin Öst, the newly appointed Head of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Armenia.

Following the official ceremony of handing over Mrs. Öst’s letter of appointment to Deputy Foreign Minister, the sides touched upon the recent political developments in Armenia, Armenia’s priorities in the spheres concerning refugees and migration, as well as other issues related to the field.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia highly appreciated the work of the former Head of the Armenian office and expressed confidence that under Mrs. Öst’s leadership the cooperation with the Office will further enhance.
