September 23,2018 15:47

The Yerevan City Council elections are taking place, and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan voted at the Shengavit district number 133 daycare 8/16 election center.

After he voted, Pashinyan spoke to reporters and said that these elections are different from past elections because now citizens are confident that they are the ones who are truly choosing and their voices will not be stolen. He assured that if election bribes happen, the police will take care of it.

Nikol Pashinyan said that these election campaigns were true campaigns. “We also understood that we needed to fight for every vote. People are passionate during any election campaign in any democratic nation. I hope that from now on, elections in Armenia will make people passionate, because all elections will be real. No one will fake elections, the results of the elections will not be written down and tucked into a drawer, nor will the CEC, police, or NSS be told that the elections need to result in a certain way. We need to learn how to hold real elections and real campaigns.”

When Aravot.am asked if a political pursuit is taking place against Prosperous Armenia, the prime minister answered like the actor, Frunzik, “You’re asking the types of questions that are uncomfortable for me to answer.”  He said that he is pleased with the campaigns and he has no reason to be upset.

The prime minister is going to New York. He was in a hurry to get to the airport.
