“The Red Cross has not visited Gurgen Alaverdyan yet. We are working with the Red Cross office for representatives to visit him,” the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anna Naghdalyan, said during a press conference with reporters in response to a question about whether or not representatives of the ICRC were able to visit officer Gurgen Alaverdyan, who had gotten lost on Azerbaijani territory as a result of poor weather conditions.
“I am unable to provide any more details due to the sensitivity of this subject,” Anna Naghdalyan concluded.
Gurgen Alaverdyan was treated poorly by Azerbaijanis, which is a violation of the several international responsibilities that Azerbaijan agreed upon.
