‘I consider Turkey and Azerbaijan to be my enemies’: Founder of United Armenia party Yervand Tarverdyan

April 10,2021 21:18

“I consider Turkey and Azerbaijan to be my enemies,” the executive director of Sargis Karolina, Yervand Tarverdyan, told reporters.

Yervand Tarverdyan decided to enter politics. The founding congress of his political party, United Armenia, took place on Saturday. United Armenia will present itself in the political arena as a party that supports national ideology.

The new political party considers Russia to be Armenia’s strategic ally. They also highly appreciate the relations Armenia has with Europe and the United States, and they have not forgotten about Armenia’s great relations with India, China, Iran, and the Arab nations. “We cannot give into luxuries and only have relations with one country.”

If snap elections will take place, United Armenia will participate separately.

Yervand Tarverdyan said that his decision to form a political party has nothing to do with the upcoming snap elections. It took place after the 44-Day War. After the war ended, he studied the country’s political and economic situation and demise that has been represented as restoration for several months. Then, he decided to unite the professionals and experienced individuals in his circle and use their strength to overcome the situation.

“We decided to not be in the position of someone who voices their opinions or is an observer. We are prepared to take on the responsibility and use our experience to help our country. We know how to stabilize the system, fix the economy, and appreciate professionalism,” Yervand Tarverdyan said.
