On August 14 at around 13:30, a large number of people with varying degrees of injuries were taken to hospitals as a result of a powerful explosion in one of the warehouses of the Surmalu Shopping Center.
The explosion was so strong that nearby trade facilities completely or partially collapsed and caught fire.

For several hours, the combat units of the fire service have tried to isolate and extinguish the fires, while the emergency crews have provided first aid to the victims on the spot or taken them to hospitals.
At the moment, firefighting and search and rescue operations are ongoing.
