On 28 November 2022, the Governor of Vayots Dzor province Ararat Grigoryan, received the UNHCR Armenia Officer-in-Charge Almaz Burkutov and his colleagues. During the meeting. Mr. Burkutov updated the Governor on UNHCR’s operation and the ongoing activities, as well as the future cooperation between their offices.
The discussion was focused on the assessment of the needs and provision of assistance to the families displaced because of the Azerbaijan’s military aggression against Armenia on 13-14 September 2022.
Expressing gratitude to the UNHCR delegation for the provision of numerous humanitarian response activities carried out in Vayots Dzor, the Governor Ararat Grigoryan stated with confidence that owing to the joint efforts and productive cooperation, it will be possible to enlarge the geographic coverage of the humanitarian activities in the province.
In his turn, Almaz Burkutov expressed his appreciation for the ongoing and fruitful cooperation and assured that the UNHCR colleagues will continue to keep close contact with the Marzpetaran’s team to ensure more targeted and productive humanitarian support activities in Vayots Dzor.
