At the NA sitting, the RA NA draft statement regarding Azerbaijan’s regular closing of the Lachin Corridor, authored by the Armenia faction, was presented. It received a negative conclusion. In the plenary session, the CC did not participate in the voting again. Andranik Tevanyan, the main speaker, announced that with this vote, the Civil Contract showed that they deceived the citizens, they made an election promise to pursue the issue of the self-determination of the people of Artsakh, even talked about the de-occupation of Shushi and Hadrut, they spoke about the principle of “Secession for the sake of salvation.” They didn’t do it, and now they are giving wings to Aliyev, raising anti-Russian hysteria at the level of the first person.
Civil Contract faction leader Hayk Konjoryan said in his speech. “Days after the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor months ago, the National Assembly adopted a statement on this issue. We tried cooperating with the opposition partners to have a unified text, but we failed. The draft of this statement needs to solve the problems about which the opposition makes a public statement. He also decided to address Tevanyan’s “exotic” thoughts.
“When discussing the Karabakh issue and the current security situation, you defend Ilham Aliyev; ignoring your already expressed dismay towards Aliyev is difficult. You are the knight carrying the torch of Azerbaijani theses in our parliament, and you come here every time and promote those same theses. Do you say CC is a party of war? We speak of peace. We are trying to make the situation around Armenia stable with all our foreign political instruments, and you are trying to generate various provocations with your provocative speech and texts.
