The hunger strike under the title “Women for Artsakh” continues near the UN office. Women from Artsakh, who moved to Armenia due to the 44-day war, joined the hunger strike. Nine women are participating in the hunger strike today.
Among them, Srbuhi Grigoryan, who was displaced from Shushi, says that the people of Artsakh do not imagine Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan.
“We have a large number of victims; it is impossible to coexist with Azerbaijan as neighbors. If the so-called peace treaty is signed and Artsakh is recognized as part of Azerbaijan, I am sure that little by little everyone will leave and Artsakh will be depopulated,” said Srbuhi in an interview with “Aravot.”

“We have compatriots in Artsakh who are starving to death without the possibility of choosing. If it is possible to send a message about this hunger strike, we are ready to participate in the hunger strike every day, but at least we can convey to the public that 120 thousand people are starving there, and they need all our support and attention. I am from Shushi; after the war, we moved to Hrazdan, but if possible, we are ready to return to Artsakh; if there is at least a small chance, let us be safe and know that we are staying in Armenian Artsakh, not joining Azerbaijan,” she said.
That option is unacceptable for the Armenian people,” she said.
Anush Sedrakyan, the author of the “Women for Artsakh” initiative, told “Aravot” that the hunger strike is ongoing, and the number of those who want to join is growing. “And today, our initiative has started the second action, Origami (the art of folding paper). We know the story of how a girl decided that by making 100 paper cranes; at least one wish would come true. Now we have prepared texts and posted them on the Facebook social site; the texts are in English, French, and Armenian, and they are sent to the e-mails of the relevant organizations. That text can be sent to many people with one click; at least that much can be done,” he said.
