The draft proposes to remove the shares of Emergency Airport CJSC from the privatization programme of State property

The NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs debated a number of legislative initiatives in the second reading at the sitting on March 13.

The Head of the State Property Management Committee of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Arnak Avetisyan presented the draft law on Amending the Law on the Privatization of State Property 2017-2020 for debate.

The draft proposes to remove the shares of Emergency Airport CJSC from the privatization programme of State property. For a long time, the company was included in the State Property Privatization Programme, from which it was later removed and attached to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The Committee endorsed the draft law.

The package of the legislative initiative authored by the Government on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Gambling Games, Internet Gambling Games and Casinos, on Making Addenda to the Law on Lotteries and on Making Addendum to the RA Code on Administrative Offenses was also endorsed.

According to the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Avag Avanesyan, editorial amendments were made in the package after it was accepted in the first reading.

Next, the revised draft of the law on Making Addenda and Amendment to the RA Law on State Duties was debated.

According to the RA Acting Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Teryan, the adoption of the draft will enable to promote the deepening of the processing of precious metals, which are considered strategic for Armenia, which will contribute to the development of the production of local products with the highest added value and the creation of new jobs. At the suggestion of the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan, the debate of the draft was postponed for up to 2 months due to the necessity to discuss certain issues additionally: The problem is that the 200.000 AMD state duty for the export of precious metals was reduced to 180.000 AMD in the draft law debated and adopted in the first reading.
