On June 26, the inaugural meeting of the Public Council under the Minister of Defense took place at the MoD administrative complex, chaired by Defense Minister Suren Papikyan, with Founder and Director Styopa Safaryan participating on behalf of the Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs (AIISA).
Minister Suren Papikyan thanked the attendees for submitting applications to join the council and noted that the involvement of various public figures in the public council is both welcome and important.
Emphasizing the strengthening of army-society ties, Suren Papikyan highlighted that a significant role is expected from the public council in this direction.
During the council’s first meeting, the main directions of cooperation were discussed and outlined, along with the platforms through which the interaction will begin.
According to the agreement, the Council members, including the Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs, are working on a package of institutional cooperation proposals with the Ministry of Defense, which will be sent to the Council Secretariat in the near future.
