This Morning the Geghanush Inflow of the Voghji River Caused Big Floods in the Town of Kapan
Around 10:45 a.m., the regional rescue service of Syunik was alerted about the incident, after which the fast response group of the rescue department left for the scene of the disaster and they registered on the spot that Sevada Zakaryan’s stone factory, which is located in the 5th side street of the Railroad Men Street, Kapan, was flooded with the water of the overflowed river. “More than 500m² of the stone factory premises, the machine engines and the offices of the company are all filled with water causing considerable material damage,” the regional rescue service of Syunik communicated.
Although, thanks to the efforts of the stone factory workers, the company has been cleaned of water, the water gathered inside was removed with containers, they still fear that the river may cause the same problem for the second time. Let us remind that yesterday evening after another inflow of the Voghji River, Vachagan, overflowed, one of the neighborhoods of Kapan suffered considerable damage. They still try to clean the streets and eliminate the consequences of distractions there.
