“Did the Opposition Have to Attack With ‘Grads’?”

September 06,2012 13:42

Galust Sahakyan, the leader of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group, is not annoyed with the criticism of his opposition colleagues that the government of the Republic of Armenia and the state apparatus were unaware of the collusion between Hungary and Azerbaijan. “One can say anything, one can benefit from anything, but it is not that issue. We have to be united,” he said during a conversation with Aravot, adding, “It is an opposition, it ought to say that, what else should it say? Not to mention that people think that if they had known about that 10 days earlier, which would have been possible, and it had been clear for the public, the opposition would have necessarily attacked with ‘Grads’ and disrupted the deal.” In his opinion, one shouldn’t look for the guilty and innocent, “But we have to be engaged in the process so that it is possible to take further actions.” We inquired whether the government had learned a lesson from what had happened. “The government should not learn any lesson. The government has used all the reserves, everything it has to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh issue and the given issues. This is an issue that is on the government’s agenda every day, every hour. One should also see the opposition and the Armenian society here,” this was his answer.
