Iraq is emptied by Yezidis. Sinjar is not completely liberated

March 03,2016 19:00

Shingal (Sinjar) Yezidi populated province located in northern Iraq is not completely liberated, currently various Yezidi armed groups are operating against the “Islamic State” terrorist grouping. Aravot.am learned about this from the President of Sinjar Yezidi National Union, Boris Murazi. “The problem is that the Yezidi and Kurdish groups are operating separately with separate commanders. No complete liberation takes place for there is no central command. In addition, the coalition forces partnering with Kurdish autonomy do not make air strikes since the two wings of the Kurds do not apply with this request. Iraqi wing of Kurds with whom coalition forces are partnering in no way brings the process to an end. Therefore, the territories cannot be called both liberated and non-liberated,” said Boris Murazi.

According to him, the number of refugees Yezidi is bothering. According to unofficial data, about 100 000 Yezidis have already abandoned Iraq,”This is a very important problem because the “Islamic state” continues the policy for which it entered Iraq. In other words, Iraq is emptied by Yezidis and it does not matter for the IP that the Yezidis are not killed because they are refugees in the Europe. On the illegal way to reach Europe, many Yezidis are killed, including children. Recently, 23 Yezidi drowned in the Mediterranean Sea.” Boris Murza noted that presumably 400 000 Yazidis are left now in Shingal, “Armed fight is against IP but a political fight is going on against the Kurdish autonomy. The latter does not allow the independent Yezidi authorities to be established. Even the biggest Yezidi squad applied for joining the Kurdish army on the condition to preserve its name and flag but the Kurds did not react to it in any way. They do not allow this force to receive a financial support from the Baghdad authorities.” The book “100 years later” by Murazi reads that the number of Yazidis killed in Iraq in 2014 amount to 20 000 while even today, Yezidis brotherly cemeteries are found in the liberated territories of Sinjar, hence, there is no exact number. To the point, the real number of those killed is not presented.
