The  Address of the Youth of Artsakh to the International Community

April 24,2016 00:11

Commemorating  1.5 million innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by Ottoman Turkey, the youth of Artsakh pays tribute to all the martyrs of the four-day war unleashed by Azerbaijan at the beginning of April, to the heroes who perished while defending Artsakh Republic’s state borders and the people of Artsakh.

Expressing gratitude to all the countries, organizations and individuals who recognized and condemned the Armenian Genocide, the youth of Artsakh considers it necessary to inform the international community that a new genocide attempt was prevented on April 1-5 thanks to the heroism the 18-20 – year – old soldiers of Artsakh Defense Army.

While some states and politicians were working out new diplomatic tricks to avoid the term “genocide” in their April 24 speeches not to “offend” Turkey, Azerbaijan, having forgotten the lessons of its policy of ethnic cleansing and Azerbaijani-Karabakh war unleashed in 1988- 1994 and the fact that it was no longer facing  unarmed  and stateless Armenians, with brotherly Turkey’s connivance and encouragement, undertook another attempt of genocide against the people of Artsakh,

Even the use of the most advanced weapons and the excessive quantity of its military were powerless against the spirit of the Armenian soldier and the unity of Armenians. They were powerless against the truth – “Those who come  with a sword will die of a sword”.

The youth of Artsakh declares to the world that any attempt to abuse the right of the people of Artsakh to live freely in their historical homeland is doomed to failure. It  calls on the international community and all the institutions concerned with preserving peace in the South Caucasus to unite efforts to suppress Azerbaijan’s criminal adventurism and prevent its revanchist ambitions once and for all.
