The political forces involved in 4+4+4 formed on the draft of Electoral Code have signed a joint statement. Note that the civil society representatives have refused to sign this statement. Aravot.am talked about this with a member of Founding Parliament, Varuzhan Avetisyan. He noted that the opposition forces had submitted five claims that are adopted half-done, “This should be observed in the ongoing general processes, the matter, first of all, refers to Artsakh’s problem and our security. I see outlines of agreements: the government is trying to agree with some of the opposition by giving some quotas on the condition that they will behave themselves on this issue the way the government wants, generally on the security of Artsakh.”
Varuzhan Avetisyan was reluctant to address the details of the statement of what document is signed and what is written there, “I think that this is a deal between the government and the palace opposition at the expense of the security of Armenia (including, Artsakh). And it is not acceptable. This is not the problem today that we must solve nationwide. We are losing our homeland, we are losing our statehood. The deals of keeping the regime and the system with such interparty agreements at the expense of the homeland should be rejected.”
