Armenia-EU new framework document to enter final phase in 2017, deputy minister says

The new comprehensive legal document between Armenia and the European Union (EU) will enter the final phase in 2017, Karen Nazaryan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia stated at the annual assembly of the EU Eastern Partnership (EaP) Senior Officials held in Brussels.

As the press department at the ministry of foreign affairs reported, the meeting addressed multilateral cooperation issues in EaP states as well as expectations and approaches of the participating states ahead of the 2017 Summit.

In his speech Karen Nazaryan spoke about sectoral dialogues underway with the European Unions as one of the forefronts of the cooperation with the Union. Deputy minister has thanked the EU member states for the EU Commission mandate to start negotiations on a comprehensive air transport agreement with Armenia, adding the decision is highly valued for a country in a blockade and with no entry to sea, especially in terms of promoting business interactions and expansion of trade and economic links.

The minister has also welcomed the EU commitment to continue discussions over visa liberation with Armenia.
