Pursuant to the member of the Council of Elders nominated via “Yelq’s” list David Khazhakyan’s conviction, Zaruhi Postanjyan labels their bloc with mercenary intentions. “Zaruhi Postanjyan has a serious need to make her party popular and that is why she gives various labels to “Yelq” expecting from us a response which will contribute to the development of her newly opened party alike. We do not intend to allude to that forasmuch as we consider that there are two primary polars in these elections – RPA and “Yelq” bloc”, opined David Khazhakyan addressing the identification of “Yelq” as an “artificial bloc” by Zaruhi Postanjyan, the founder of “Yerkir Tsirani” party.
Referring to Zaruhi Postanjyan’s denial as there has not been an official suggestion for cooperation by “Yelq”, as the spokesperson of “Yelq” had reported earlier, David Khazhakyan answered: “We have done everything until our bloc’s registration in this elections for the opposition to act in one subject – to be in the form of a single alliance, a party. Zaruhi Postanjyan has decided to partake alone and henceforth will bear the consequences of her decision.” As far as Galust Sahakyan’s view implying that “Yelq” has been formed to come to the parliament is concerned, David Khazhakyan said: “Every RPA representative, Galust Sahakyan encompassed, while making such statements on “Yelq”, is conscious that there is a serious threat from “Yelq” inasmuch as we might provide results unexpected to them in the elections, consequently they do everything via respective propaganda methods to impact on “Yelq’s” reputation.”
He also noted that “Yelq” does not take ANC vice-president Levon Zurabian’s viewpoint as if “Yelq” is a controlled opposition seriously: “This is simply a phrase made by a political figure not passing the parliamentary elections, who is upset both with his electors and the forces that perhaps had promised them as if they would pass. Therefore, what ORO or PPA-Congress alliances will say are just complexes of not passing the parliamentary elections, which will very soon be overcome.” Let us remind you that David Khazhakyan is the candidate who has taken the fourth place in “Yelq’s” list nominated from “Bright Armenia” party.
