Armenia won 3 gold medals in European Youth Championship of Freestyle Wrestling in Rome, this year. The last one to compete was Hovhannes Maghakyan (125 kg), who attacked for 6 minutes. The activeness of the super heavyweight sportsman had a positive outcome. Defeating the Ukrainian Yuri Idzinski with confidence, who was way taller than Armenian wrestler, Hovhannes won Old World Champion’s title bringing the third gold medal to Armenia.
Coaches Avetik Vardanyan, Arshak Hayrapetyan and Armen Malkhasyan in the lead, the National Youth Team of Armenia of Freestyle Wrestling won 3 gold medals and two silver medals overall and took the third place with its whole team.
The National Youth Team of Armenia will land in “Zvartnots” airport on August 6, at 23:50.
