Prosperous Armenia regarding the danger of them getting kicked out of Armenia and witch hunts

September 17,2018 18:40

During press briefings in the National Assembly, Aravot.am spoke to the parliament members from Prosperous Armenia. They were asked whether they thought, after taking into consideration recent confrontations, the witch hunts in Armenia have already started or not. Iveta Tonoyan answered that she can’t answer regarding witch hunts specifically, but they have been witness to several announcements over the past few days. “Particularly, there have been calls to lay people out on asphalt which did happen. Though, there are facts to prove that, when it happened to the 7th group on the election ballot, without any explanation, they were released and freed after getting photographed. Of course, there were several demonstrations here that were outside normal logical limits, but I also saw the letter from the prime minister’s assistant, where it was emphasized that the prime minister’s call to have people laid out on the asphalt was said figuratively. Now, we have to receive commentary from them as far as what that means figuratively.”

We also tried to find out about the prime minister’s announcement that those who try to bring tension to the current political situation in Armenia will be literally kicked out. We asked Iveta Tonoyan if she thinks that, with what they’re doing, that they’re intensifying the situation in Armenia, and if she’s scared that they’ll get kicked out of Armenia. She said, “One time, Gagik Tsarukyan stated that a serious political force and its representatives will not respond to any vague announcements made by its leader. If there is a specific statement addressed to someone, then no one doubts that there will be a very specific response. As far as any fear goes, naturally, no, we have nothing to fear.”
