The members of the Bright Armenia party were in Abovyan and Yeghvard for campaign rallies. Edmon Marukyan spoke to the residents of Abovyan about Armenian-Russian relations. He reminded the residents of Nor Hachin that he was the one who wrote to Vladimir Putin after the April War, stating that Azerbaijan was violating international law.
He said, “There has not been any government in Armenia that went and dared to tell Russians that if we are to be strategic partners, stop selling Azerbaijan weapons. Our relations with Russia are only the best on paper and in words. If our current authorities don’t have businesses in Moscow, why do they feel constrained? All the former authorities felt constrained due to this.”
Regarding the Artsakh resolution issue, Edmon Marukyan stated that Artsakh needs to return to the negotiations table.
Regarding the RPA’s slogan, Edmon Marukyan said, “The RPA says that if you’re worried, vote Republican. Bright Armenia says that if you’re worried that the Republicans will return, vote for Bright Armenia. We must be the second force in parliament. We are worthy of being the second force due to our work, our professionalism, and our expertise.”
Edmon Marukyan assured that on December 9th, we will be closing the pages of the past in Armenian history. We will think of the former authorities as a bad memory.
Someone complained to Edmon Marukyan in Yeghvard that they worked in Russia since 2002, but hasn’t received any pension from Armenia. Edmon Marukyan replied, “You paid taxes to Russia, and now you expect Armenia to give you pension?”
