According to the official press of the Shirak regional administration, 68 coronavirus patients are currently being treated at the Gyumri Infectious Antituberculosis Hospital, 63 of whom are residents of the Shirak province. Two days ago, 66 people were being treated and 62 of them were from the Shirak province.
Over the past few days, 4 people have recovered, 3 of whom are employees at the Maralik Health Center.
The regional administration also stated that the number of patients who were transported from the Shirak province to Yerevan was 18. Overall, 17 patients recovered and were released from the hospital. Three deaths were recorded from the virus in the region. The three deaths were from the Ani community. Two of the men who died were from Maralik, and one was from Dzorakap.
At the moment, 339 citizens are currently in quarantine or self-isolation in the Shirak region.

The regional administration also said that the lockdown placed on Maralik and Dzorakap in order to contain the spread of the virus was removed on May 1st.
The head of the Ani community, Artak Gevorgyan, told Aravot Daily, “The restrictions on free movement were lifted, but there are still only a few people moving about. There were some mild cases, but they came from the same source. There are no new risks or new sources. The restrictions had a positive impact on considerably preventing new developments. All developments are mainly connected to the same places and sources,” the community leader said.
Artak Gevorgyan also said that many of the family members of infected patients who were quarantined at a hotel in Gyumri have returned home after having negative test results.
The community leader said that he sent a bus to the hotel in Gyumri twice. The first time, 16 people returned home, and nine people returned the second time.
