What conversation took place between the first President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrossian and Nikol Pashinyan during their meeting after the revolution in the summer of 2018? Nikol Pashinyan had announced that the first president told him that he needed to hand over the territories. Was that truly what you said? Aravot Daily asked this question to the first president during his press conference on Thursday.
In response, the first president said that we should ask Nikol Pashinyan, and demand that he provide a recording of that statement. “I was at his house. He definitely recorded it. He should prove it.” Then, Ter-Petrossian explained, “I went to say one thing to him. I was always concerned about the Artsakh issue regardless of whether it happened during Robert Kocharyan’s, Serzh Sargsyan’s, or Nikol Pashinyan’s administration.
I told him the following: your first task must be to register that inheritance of the Artsakh conflict resolution process as of April 18th. Serzh resigned on the 18th. I told him why he needs that- so he can have it, so he can have a recording of what he inherited. After that, he could bring forth a better solution, which would be his honor. If he brought forth a worse solution, it would be his shame.”
