“We are deeply concerned about the ongoing military operations on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, including artillery strikes that have targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure in Armenia. This is the worst conflict since the 2020 military conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. Reports of casualties among civilians cause concern,” said Norway’s representative at the UN Security Council meeting.

She referred to the danger to the lives of people living in the border regions. The representative of Norway said that their country recognizes the territorial integrity of Armenia and Azerbaijan, their internationally recognized borders. We welcome the continuation of the dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia in accordance with the points of the November 9 declaration. The representative of Norway also called for a return to solving the problem through diplomatic means.

The representative of Ireland also expressed concern about the attacks on civil infrastructures in the territory of Armenia, saying that it is a violation of the norms of international humanitarian law. ”

All parties must return to the positions they occupied before the clashes. Violence is not a way to solve the problem, the settlement of the conflict should be done through diplomacy and dialogue,” said the representative of Ireland.

The representative of Brazil spoke of long-term peace in the world, the exclusion of violence. He expressed condolences to both sides for the victims. A representative of the United Arab Emirates said they were satisfied that both sides had stopped firing. Like many others, she called for restraint and a diplomatic solution to the problem.
